JC bond salesman who has just returned from New England tells about a Maine farmer who last fall contracted to buy a Ford car and pay for same on March 1, this year, with 400 barrels of potatoes. The, humble ■“spud” was selling at $1.15 per barrel when the agreement was made, and today the market is $10.50 a barrel. On the basis of this price the Ford w r itl cost $4,200.
