One reason why the French woman Is always so tastefully dressed is because she carefully studies the effect of each article she puts in her looking glass. Do not be afraid to consult your mirror. Sit down In front of it and sa/ to yourself, “In -what way-can I improve my appearance so as to more nearly approach the perfect woman?” This is not vanity—it Is merely common sense. Does not Thackeray say that “A good face, a good address, a good dress are all so many points in the game of life of which every man of sense will avail himself. And If this be true of man, how much more of a woman? *
