Miss Linda Langwith of Davenport, lowa, is spending a couple of weeks at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Bringle. Lon Healy was in Chicago over Sunday. He attended the christening of the week old child of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith. Mrs. Smith is a cousin of Mr. Healy’s. John Poole went to Battlegroud today to look after his farm one-half mile north of that place. The farm is in charge of his son, Willis. The Van Rensselaer club will give a dance at the armory, this evening. A Chicago orchestra will furnish the music.

Mrs. Mary Hart and daughter, Sabina of Kniman, took the train here this morning for Chicago, where they will attend the funeral of the sister of the mother. Rev. J. C. Parrett, former pastor of the Presbyterian church of this city, but now located at Hammond, stopped off here today for a short visit. He is on his way home from Indianapolis.
In renewing her subscription to the Republican, Mrs. A. L. McCurtain, of Rock Springs, Wyo., says that she cannot do without the news from the old home town. The writer states that she and. family have learned to love Wyoming, with her rugged mountains and great plains, and that Rock Springs is the greatest little city in the land, for it is home, yet that her thoughts often turn back to the place of her birth and she is proud to remember that she is a Hoosier.
