The funeral of Steward C. Hammond was held Sunday afternoon, at the Methodist church and burial was made in the Crockett cemetery. There will be a special meeting of the Women’s Home Missionary Society of the M. E. church, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, to consider entertaining the district committee. ■■■ ■ 1 —r- - - - • - Mrs. J. K. Smith and daughter, Elsie, went to LaFayette Sunday to see Mrs. Smith’s aunt, Mrs. Dunson, who is confined to the Home hospital in that city. Mrs. Smith has peen suffering with pleurisy, but is some improved now.
