One pound of medium-cooked oatmeal, three ounces of dripping, molasses, one-half pound of brown sugar, one-half ounce of ground ginger and one-half teaspoonful of salt. Mix the salt with the oatmeal and rub in the fat. Add the sugar and ground ginger. Mix to a stiff dough with molasses. Roll out half an inch thick, cut into squares and bake on a greased tin for 20 minutes. The oven should be hot;
