Monon’s Wage Scale Is Rejected by Members

At a meeting of the various crafts employed at the Monon’s shops, held Tuesday night, the men rejected an offer for an increase in salary made by the officials of the company. The committee representing the crafts made its report on the conferences ( held with the officials and submitted the offer made. The ship men are asking for a flat increase of_sc an hour, and it is said the offer made by the company would affect all departments differently. The demand affects four hundred men, including machinists, boilermakers, blacksmiths, and pipe men. The ship men are insistent in their demands, and the committee, who have been vested with the power of representing all crafts will go to Chi* cago to hold another conference with the officials and notify them of the. rejection of their offer.
