Very, Very Serious.
In a toast to “widows” at a dinner in Chicago, a society leader and afterdinner speaker said: “We all know that widows are like windows —when you get near one you ought to look out. “I said to a chap at the shore one night: “ ‘Are your Intentions toward the widow, serious?’ “ ‘Very, very serious,’ he answered, with a sigh. ‘I intend, if possible, to get out of marrying her.’ ”
