Attention, Children!
New York, Jan. I.—Every school child in the United States w’ll be asked to join an “army of thrift workers” under the guidance of the National Education Association and the American Society for Thrift, according to an announcement made public by that organization today. „ “Each county superintendent in the United States,” the announcement said, “is today receiving an urgent request from the National Education Association, asking him to assume th? leadership and perfect .the organization in his county. “Every child in the United States will, under this plan, be permitted riot only to compete for the cash prizes, aggregating more than SI,OOO, which are being offered for thrift essays, but the winner in each county will receive a special medal and will be invited to appear on the program of the county institute and read his prize-winrting _ vt
