W. B. AUSTIN NAMED ON PARK BOARD
Supporter of Brundage at Recent Election Receives Appointment to Park Board. W. R. Austin, formerly of this city and now one of the leading business men of Chicago, was recently selected to fill one of the places on the new park board of the city of Chicago. Seven new members are to be appointed on this board and Mr. Austin is one of the three so far to be appointed by Mr. Brundage, attorneygeneral elect. j As will be remembered, the fight for attorney general was one of the most bitterly fought in history and the final count showed that Brundage led by only a scant margin over his rival. During the campaign Mr> Austin was one of the most ardent supporters of Mr. Brundage. Since the* election of Brundage, who becomes a power greater than that of the governor of Illinois in politics as far'as actual patronage goes, has swept into his coalition the entire string of war dorganizations from the river to the boundary line of the Twenty-Eighth Ward, giving him a compact domain of the seven wards.
