DRAFTING OF DRY BILL STARTED

Preparations of State- Wide Prohibition Bill to Be Presented Next Month. Preparations of the state-wide prohibition bill to be fostered by the [ndiana Anti-Saloon League in the egislature, is under way, according to a statement that has been issued by E. S. Shumaker, superintendent of the league. The bill will be drafted by R. C. Minton, attorney for the league, who drew the Moore remonstrance law and the Mind tiger law, now in force, and the county unit option law passed at the special session in 1906 and repealed in 1909. Two Marion county members of the general assembly have agreed to assume authorship of the bill. A. M. Scott, a member of the House from Marion county, has informed the league that he will introduce the bill if the league desires, and Senatorelect Franklin McCay is willing to assume authorship of the bill. Mr. Scott also declared that the Anti-Saloon League will have a prohibition bill of his own, regardless of what any other organization does, although the league may co-operate with other organizations in engineering the passage of the measure. The present plan.is for the introduction of the prohibitory bill simultaneously in both houses, and for the names of two senators, one democrat and one .republican, to appear on each bill. In this way the suggestion of politics in connection with the passage of Hie bill would be eliminated.
