The local high school boys begun basket ball practice last week with almost twenty candidates for places on the varsity. A good spirit was manifested and it is hbped a fast, heavy team will develop. With the co-operation of the student body and the fans of the city, a successful season is certain. A good schedule has been formed and whatever support the team gets will be merited. Cold, Snap Continues—Six Below Zero Sunday Night. The cold snap of the padt few days is still unbroken and it looks as if Santa would have real Christmas weather for his travels. The mercury in the government thermometer at St. Joseph’s college Sunday night sank to six below at one stage, which was the coldest registered during the night. Nine below is the coldest we have had so far this winter, but if the present early winter weather is any indication, we are likely to have “ i great deal of zero weather.
