Co. M to Participate In Giant War Manuever. „ £o. M of this city, now at Llano Grande, Tex., will participate with an army of 25,000 soldiers in the first of the big war manuevers, which will begin early in December and continue for three weeks. By that time Major ■George H. Healey, now here on a leave of absence, will be back with the troops. General James Parker, commander of the Brownsville district, has an- | nounced plans for the campaign and I “battles.” An imaginary force will land at Point Isbel, 60 miles east of Llano i Grande, and march on San Benito, | halfway between the coast and Llano Grande. The army, opposed by the men from Llano Grande camp, will march west. Three regiments of Minnesota infantry, three of Indiana and two of Nebraska infantry. ./««tt Llano Grande and North Dakota guardsmen of Mercedes, will defen 1 j their positions. j The fact that these war manuevers | are to last for three weeks and will not start until November*- should set at rest all rumors that the troops will be home this winter. By the time they are finished January will he hers and it is thought that President Wilson will not send the men back to the cold northern climate until spring.
