Texture and Fertility Improved by Growing Sweet CloverSow With Grain.
Unproductive and heavy clay and hard-pan soils may be so improved in texture and fertility by growing sweet clover on them for a feW years that they become quite productive. The seed weighs 60 pounds to the bushel. Sow 15 pounds to the acre. Sow early in spring on well-prepared land. The seed may be sown with the grain In the fall. Rough, wooded or stony lands that cannot be tilled may be seeded by sowing the seed broadcast during the late fall or early winter. The seed will be covered by the alternate freezing and thawing of the ground. ,
