He has lived in Newcastle many years. two terms he served as prosecuting attorney in Henry county, and served as circuit judge by appointment, later being electoi dtr that position. Judge Jackson was not opposed for the second nomination for secretary of state, Republicans in convention concluding that his fighting personality was an asset well worth keeping in the 1916 campaign.
