U. S. to Claim Damage For Mail Seizure.

i Washington, Oct. 17—The United States will file claims against the French and British governments for f injuries suffered by American citi- ! zens under the allies’ illegal censorship of American mails. These claims will amount to many 1 millions, rivaling the famous Alabama claims in the amount involved. Officials asserted the state departi ment will not present the demands until after the November election. Many claims already have been

filed by persons injured by the censorship. These represent injuries inflicted iSht'only by the censorship at English and French ports, but also by the censorship at Vancouver, B. C. American government has been forced to discontinue the Vancouver routing for mail to and from Hawaii, the Philippines and Shanghai, China.. .
