ONIONS CAUSE UNPLEASANT ODOR
Controversy Oversale of Onions Between Landlord and Tenant— Shipment Stopped. Mt. Ayr Tribune. Some unpleasantness arose here Saturday between Mr. D. L. Halstead and a tenant, Mr. Adams. According to Mr. Halstead, who has gone quite extensively into the onion growing business of late years, and who decided a few weeks ago to sell his present year’s crop, he was authorized by Mr. Adams to sell his (Mr. Adam’s) share of the crop when ne disposed of his own. This he did about three weeks ago, since which time prices of onions have gone up and Mr. Adams decided to sell elsewhere, and began to haul them to town for shipment. Mr. Halstead, who was obliged to deliver his onions on sale, proceeded to call the sheriff and prosecutor and stopped the shipping. The onions are now stored in the Hufty building just north of Mt. Ashby’s hardware and it is hoped a speedy agreement may be reached by these men and the onions be moved very early, as they are in the perishable class of merchandise and with cold weather so near may mean a considerable loss to them. ,
