BOSTON LEADS DODGERS IN SIXTH INNING

Shore Toiling For the Hoee With Pffefer Up For Brooklyn—Score 4 to 1 Favors Carrigans. Braves Field, Boston, Oct. 12.—Boston led Brooklyn in today's game at the sixth inning by a score of 4 to 1. Brooklyn was striving desperately to overcome the Red oSx lead, for defeat meant the end of the series and the loss of extra world series coin to them. Shore was on the mound for the Carrigans, with Carrigan himself behind the platter. Jeff Pffeffer, the one best bet for Brooklyn, was chosen by Robinson to make the final stand against the leaders. Pffeffer offerings were salmmed hard by the Red Sox adn he was taken out to let Coombs finish. Myers was catching for Brooklyn. • 1 2 3-4 5 6—lt Boston 1 2 0 1 0 o—4 Brooklyn 0 1 0 0 0 o—l Batteries: Boston, Shore-Cady; Brooklyn, and Myer.
