One cupful of milk scalded and cooled, one tablespoonful of sugar, ft pinch of salt, one-half cupful of compressed yeast, tw r o cupfuls of flour. Let rise over night. In morning add flour enough to make a stiff dough. Let rise again, then add one-half cupful of sugar, butter the size of an egg, a little nutmeg, two eggs; beat butter, sugar and eggs, to a cream, then add to dough. Knead, roll with rollingpin, cut with a large cake cutter, then cut in halves, dip in melted butter and lay against one another, with rounded part up. Let rise again, then bake. These are delicious.
