REV. P. C. CURNICK TO LEAVE RENSSELAER
Given Position of Financial Secretary of Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis—Strecker New Pastor. Rev. P. C. Curnick, pastor of the Methodist church of his city for the past three years, with his family, ,‘s to leave Rensselaer for Indianapolis, to which city his new appointment will take him. - - ■- —-- — At the closing session of the Northwest Indiana Methodist Episcopal Conference at Greencastle Mon ; day the appointments of pastors was jnade by Bishop Thomas Nicholson,’ of Chicago. Rev. Curnick in recognition of his good work of the past few years, was honored with receiving the appointment of financial secretary of the Methodist hospital of Indianapolis, which is quite an advance in his line of work, and carries with it a substantial increase in salary. Dr. Curnick is in Indianapolis now and as soon as a house can be procured by him in city himself and family will leave immediately for their new home.
L Rev. Curnick is just finishing his , third year as the pastor of the Methodist church here, coming to Rensse- ! laer from Terre Haute, where he was pastor of the First M. E. church of that city, and succeeding Rev. C. L. Harper, who was sent to Delphi. Rev. Curnick during his period as pastor here, has maintained the high standard attained by the church, prior to his coming here and his work has been quite satisfactory. The new position recently obtained by Rev. Curnick has been open to him for several montis and his appointment to this position by Bishop Nicholson was not surprising. While the many friends of Rev. Curnick and family will regret his leaving Rensselaer, they will be pleased to hear of his advancement and wish him success in his new field. Rev. <E. W. Strecker, pastor of the Covington, Ind., M. E. church, will take the place vacated by Rev. Curnick and will be here just as sodh as Rev. Curnick and family move fro n the M. E. parsonage. Rev. Strecker comes here with* the best of recommendations and is. said to be a mighty fine man, and, will be of much aid to the church and the community in general. ——
