Myes, and to celebrate the Jewish holiday. Mrs. J, J. Robinson, of Lafayette, left today for Mt. Vernon, S. Dak., where she will visit her son, Arthur Yeiter. Mrs. M. A. Rhyan, who has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Honan for about ten days, returned to her home in Chicago today. Mrs. Elmer Rathfon returned to her home in Chicago today after visiting for a few -days with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mr . J. R. Van-, atta. The New York Giants set a major league record Monday by winning their twenty-first straight vielory by downnig the St. Louis Cardinals in a double bill. The previous record was held by the Providence club of the old National League. The White Sox in 1906 won 19 straight.
Mt. Ayr Items From The Tribune. Atty. M. E. Graves, of Morocco, was here Friday. Mt. Ayr home coming and stock show was a success. M. A. Jones,_-the postmaster of Brook, was here Saturday C. C. Lowe, of Kentland, took in both days of our festival. A. D. Washburn and family, of Kentland, were here Saturday. Atty. W. H. Parkinson, of Rensselaer, was here Saturday. It was a great time for getting together, was the home coming. C. R. Williamson, of Morocco, attended the home coming Friday.
Fd Gamblin and Sam Herron, of Morocco, spent Saturday with Us. Mr. ami Mrs. Roy Hardesty, of Hammond, were here Friday and Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. N. K. Parke, now of Hammond, were among the home comers. A. S. Laßue, of Rensselaer, was here for the stock show and entertainment Saturday. Leslie Miller, of the Jasper County Democrat force, was a home comer Saturday. Charles Greenlee, of Yeoman, was shaking hands with old friends here Friday and Saturday. Dale -Whittington, the trick bicycle rider, left for his Home at Hoopeston, 111., Sunday morning. J. Lane and Joe Best, cf the Citizen’s Bank of Morocco, were among our visitors Saturday. We had the pleasure of a call from Mr. Steinbaugh, the editor of the Kentland Democrat, Saturday. Mrs. Lillie Barker, of Monon, sister of Miss Flora Parke, was here both days of the home coming. The merry-go-round people, a very fine bunch, left Monday morning for their next stop, which is at Rockville.
Mrs. M. D. Sherwood, of Momence, sister of Milo and W. W. Miller, was among the home comers Friday and Saturday. Mrs. G. W. Zerby, of Tiosa, spent Saturday with old friends here. Mr. Zerby was at one time the station agent here. Dr. Martin and wife took advantage of the Sunday excursion of the C. & E. I. and visited Mrs. Martin’s sister in Chicago. Miss Dorris Sayers, of Goodland, was among the home coming visitors, returning to her home Monday morning. Mrs. Kenneth Stein, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. W. R. Lee, over the home coming, returned to her home in Ft. Wayne Monday. William Wilson, of Chicago Heights, called on his old time friend, Ed Wolfe, Monday. It had been ten years’since they had seen each other.
