DEMOCRATIC LEGISLATURE RAISES TAX LEVY 25.9 PER CT.
In Addition Value of Property, Subject to Taxation, Has Increased 13.2 Per Cent Since Democrats Came Into Power. It Is a fixed principle of government that increases in the value of property from time to time ought to provide any revenue needed to care for new or added functions of government. From 1908 to 1915 the increase in the value of property in Indiana, subject to taxation amounted to 13.2 per cent" Naturally this produced greater revenue. In 1913 the Democratic legislature, In order to provide for the hunger of "deserving Democrats” who could not be provided for from the revenue collected because of increased values, raised the state tax rate from 31.85 to 40.10, or 25.9 per cent. Mr. Voter, isn’t it time to kick the Democratic machine out of the State House?
