Evening Republican, Volume 20, Number 224, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 18 September 1916 — WILL NOT TEACH BOOZOLOGY. [ARTICLE]

WILL NOT TEACH BOOZOLOGY.

By voting a 338 majority in favor of a saloonless city, Bloomington, Ind., refuses to add “boozology” to the course in Indiana University. The result of the election will be received with thanksgiving throughout the state. That there should ever be a question as to the presence of the saloon in a great educational center like Bloomington is a shame. Those towns in which are located the educational institutions of the state should have the best environment possible; it should be the concern of the state to see that in so far as it is possible, the young men. and women who are sent to these institutions shall come in cvontact with the highest ideals and the most healthful surroundings. Surely the day will come when not only every university town but every city and hamlet in Indiana will be rid of this corrupt influence. —lndiana Forum.
