Fowler Is Facing a Great Water Famine.
There is a water famine on in Fowler that is not without its serious phases. For some time therq, has been no water in the standpipes, says the Fowler Review, and in case of fire the property owners would be helpless as the people of Wadena or Raub,' as absolutely no water can be furnished. All Monday afternoon and until midnight no water was to be had for drinking purposes, and for the past month no water in the mains from about ten to eleven o’clock until morning. The schools had to oc dismissed on Tuesday afternoon because of the lack of water and Mr. Wilson of the Publip Service Co., has sent one of his trusted men to try to put things into normal condition. The company supplying the town has tried to return to the compressed air system, with disastrous results to the town. If any buildings should burn in the town at this time the Interstate Puolic Service Company would be liable for damages for failure to fumisn water, as they are receiving SI,BOO a year from the town and are to keep a certain pressure on the mains in case of fire.
