Shorty Adams and Fred Irwin Take Trip to Penal Farm.
“Shorty” Adams and Fred Irwin were sentenced to the state penal farm at Greencastle Monday oy Mayor'Spitler. Shorty and Fred left for their winter quarters, accompanied by Sheriff B. D. McColly, Wednesday. Shorty received a sentence of 130 days and Fred will get a little longer vacation, going for a 140 day spell. These two offenders have made previous visits to the “farm,” but apparently derived no benefit from their experiences, hence their sentences this time were for a longer time. . There are some few others in Rensselaer who had better correct their habits or they are likely to find themselves doing time at the same place as Shorty and Fred. Rensselaer officers have put up with a great deal from some of the habituals and the.r limit of patience has about been reached.
