Mary AbelF went to Battle Ground Saturday to attend school. A. M. Bringle and family and C. A. Bringle and wife attended the Moody meeting at Cedar Laks Sunday. M’t McKay went "to Buchanan, Michigan, the last of the week and brought back his brother, Jim, who has been there since July 4th. Mrs. Noland and Miss Grace Anderson visited friends at Mt. Ayr a few days last week. James Ciiftoi\ has been repairing the 'school building here, preparatory to having an extra teacher this year. Reuben Noland is over near Virgie working. Leota Moore and Fred Kever, of Lafayette, came Sunday and visited. Picking and sorting pickles seems to be the chief business here just now. Miss Lettie DeKoker, of DeMotte, is visiting at James Clifton’s. Frank Stover and family returned Tuesday from a visit at Lafayette. Herb Bozell took a load of watermelons to Rensselaer this week. Mrs. Eggleston, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Barber and Mrs. McKay were in Rensselaer Tuesday. Grandma Gallaher returned to her home in Kirklin Sunday after a three weeks’ visit here with relatives. Mrs. John Thorn ,of Gary, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Halleck, last week. School begins here Monday.
