Big Football Squad Out For Initial Workout.
The largest squad ever to report for a high school football team in Rensselaer was out Monday evening, the first day of school. Twenty-one men reported to Captain Moore, eleven of them being old men, and the outlook for this season is much brighter than it has been for several years. The old men to report were:. Moore, the Dunlap brothers, Gourley, Johnson, McColly, Cumick, Hansson, Freeland and Crooks. The new men reporting were, Loy, York, Kight, Babcock, Randle, Snow, Beam, Guild, Barber, Jarrette and Clark. There will probably be some more candidates out within the next few days. Games have already been arranged with Hammond and East Chicago. Gary is a probable opponent, but as yet have not been scheduled.
