Home. grown watermelons have made their appearance in Rensselaer in the past few days and they are of an unusually fine quality, nice and juicy and sweet and are not so very high priced, either. The watermelons are ripening fine and it is expected ( that the later ones will be even betI t er - Producers of the melons are having no trouble at all of disposing of them [ and the wagons bearing the luscious I fruit are soon emptied. The cantalodpes are also of an exercmely fine quality and are as good t as many of the famous brands that are shipped into the city from dis- \ tant points that' are famed for the production of them.
