Governor Ralston Designates September 4th As Labor Day.

Governor Ralston in a proclamation issued. Friday, designated Monday, Sept. 4thy as labor day and declared that it should not be overlooked on this day, that all legitimate interests of our country are dependent upon one another and that no one bf these can be seriously wronged without the other having to suffer thereby. He urged that the celebration of the day "a keener appreciation of the equities of life be realized.” The proclamation is concluded with an appeal for observance by all in so far as practicable and that the day be given β€œto a thoughtful discussion of the things that will promote the interests of labor and capital and all of the people, and that which will enable labor to make greater contribution to society than it has in the past.”
