Be it ordained by the Commcfi Council of the city of Rensselaer, Indiana that whoever, not being a resident of Jasper county, Indiana, shall go about begging and asking subsistence by charity, either directly or indirectly, or whoever not being a boniflde resident of said county, shall sing, or play any musical instrument as an object of charity in any public place within the corporate limits of said city, without having first secured a written permit from the Mayor thereof, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined not less than one dollar nor more than five dollars. Section 2. This ordinance shall be in force from and after its passage and publication for two consectutive weeks in the Evening Republican, a daily newspaper,printed and published in said city the first of which shall be on the 30th day of June, 1916, and the last on the 7th day of July, 1916, .
