It has been suggested that we begin our editorial duties with The Republican by writing a poem about the weather. Our reply was that if we did it would have to be written in blank verse, as appropriate adjectives would not look well in print. We have a large stock of walking, riding and two-row cultivators. — Hamilton & Kellner. A pleasant gathering was held Sunday, June 18, at the home of Mr. am Mrs. W. F. Michael, in Jordan township, in honor of Mrs. Teresa Smith, of Marion, Ind. A remarkable dinner was served at the noon hour. While in the afternoon refreshments of ice cream and cake along with conversation and enjoying- the singing and fine music. The guests departec in the evening having all reported a good time.
