For Old Pewter Ware.

To clean pewter, make a stiff pasta of powdered pumice stone and soap, and add a bit of sweet oil. Wash tha pewter with warm soapsuds, then rub it all over with the paste moistened with water. Let it stand overnight then rub off with* soft cloth. Polish with any good sliver polish.— Magazine
