Only Half Crop of Wheat Is Estimated For Indiana.
A summary .of the June crop report for Indiana and the United States as compiled by the Bureau of crop estimates is not very encouraging. On June first the wheat crop in Indiana was estimated at 18,500,000 bushels as against 47,300,000 bushels produced last year. In the United States the June first forecast was for 715,000,000 bushels as against 1,011,505,000 bushels produced in 1915. The June first forecast for oats is 58,000,000 bushels in the state and 1,250,000 bushels in the United States. The figures in 1915 were 65,520,000 bushels in Indiana and 1,540,362,000 bushels in the United States. Rye acording to reports will fall short nearly half in the state and nearly ten million bushels in the country at large. The hay prospect is- nearly ten per cent better than last year. Apples, according to thb June forecast, will fall short nearly a million barrels in the state, while peaches will yield a third more.
