Dario Resta, in his Peugeot, Sunday won the second annual 300-mile automobile debry at the Chicago speedway. Ralph DePalma, in a Mercedes, was second, nearly a lap behind the leader. Resta’s time was 3 hours, 2 minutes and 31 seconds, an average of 98.7 miles an hour. Christiaens, in a Sunbeam, was third; Vail, driving a Hudson, fourth, and O’Donnell, piloting a Duesenburg, fifth. DePalma and Resta raced neck and neck throughout the contest, but two laps before the end DePalma developed engine trouble and was forced to go to the pits, losing his position in the lead.
