DEMOCRATS NAME FULL STATE TICKET
Adair, Kern and Taggart Head the List—Niblack and Homer L. , Cook Also Named. Very few contests marked the democratic state convention. The primary action naming John M. Adair governor and John W.’ Kern for senator was ratified and Thomas Taggart was nominated without opposition for the senatorial short term. There was quite a contest for lieu-tenant-governor and it required five ballots to name a candidate for the office. Mason J. Niblack, of Vincennes, was finally nominated. Homer J. Cook, secretary of state, and about all other present state officers were renominated. S. W. Kann, of Ligonier, was nominated for state statistician on the third ballot; Samuel C. Scott, of Jeffersonville, was nominated for superintendent of public instruction. The full ticket follows: Governor—John M. Adair, Portland. United States Senator, long term— John W.
