Joliet, Ill.—William Roberts, eightysix years old, believed to be the last of the survivors of the Twelfth Royal Lancers, the heroes of Tennyson’s -jstT'cEw--.rsrLwrtßwwr died here of old age. He was one of the “Noble Six Hundred,” but missed the gallant charge at the battle of Balaclava when sent as a special courier to another division.
