GEORGE W. HEALEY TO BE NAVAL CADET

Received Recommendation of Representative Wood to Attend Academy at Annapolis. George W. Healey, son of the editor of The Republican, has been recommended by Representative Will R. Wood for appointment to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md., and will take the admission examination on April 18th. It is probable that he will go to Annapolis to take preparatory work for the examination, although he may tkke this at home. i tliil Application was made to Representative Wood some time ago and the appointment was made after Mr. Wood had consulted the applicant to determine his present desire. Young Healey graduated from Rensselaer high school in 1914, spent the following year in Illinois university and the first semester of the present year in Indiana state university. Ensign' James E. Brenner, of the U. S. S. Maryland at Mare Jsland, Cal., entered the academy seven years ago and graduated with the class of 1913. Graduates given the rank of Ensign upon completing the course. This rank corresponds with the rank of second lieutenant in the army.
