$34,000 TO BE EXPENDED ON NEW MAKEMSELF SEWER
City Council Stars Proceedings-to Rer place Present Sewer With Large One. If the present plans of the city council are carried out the present Makemself' sewer, constructed some years ago ar a cost of $12,000, willim torn up and a new sewer, much larger i nsize, will 'be built. The present plans contemplate a sewer running practically on the same route but extending to the city limits on the north. There will be 4,200 feet of 48 inch sewer, 1,300 feet of 36 inch and 1700 feet of 24 inch. Included in the work will be .789 cubic yards of rock to be excavated. The estimated cost of the work will be $34,350.55. Several hundred town lots will be assessed for the work and the farm land north of the eity limits will also be assessed. A resolution was adopted by the council providing for the improvement and the matter will come before the council at future meeting. A petition for a sewer on Dayton street to connect with the Makemself sewer was presented by C. G. Stpitler et al. It is to run along Merritt street. The engineer was instructed to prepare plans and specifications for a district sewer and the city attorney was directed to prepare plans for same. All members were present at the council meeting Monday evening. The petition of Frank J. Donnelly'" et al for the oiling of certain streets was passed to second reading. The city engineer was instructed to prepare a plat for a district sewer on Rutsen street petitioned for by J. P. Hammond et aK The ordinances providing for the purchase of the Fendig property and the selling of the present- city-hail - site were passed. -£—i— A claim, of W. F.
