Mute Son of J. W. Raines Married In Minnesota Feb. 2nd.
J. W. Raines has returned home from a trip to the northwest. He had gone there,, to attend the marriage of his mute son, Ames M. Raines, and Miss Myrtle Siders, also a mute, which occurred on Feb. Bth in Minnesota. The newlyweds will reside on the farm Mr. Raines bought a few months ago of Benjamin Harris, in Barkley township. They have not yet arrived here but are expected any day. The farm will be jointly occupied by Mr. Raines and his sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Gillett. Mr. Raines has a farm of 400 acres in Minnesota and prior to coming here had occupied it for four or five years. He now has it,rented for cash rent at $5 per acre. He had a good touch of colaxweather while there, h? <#nereury being 25 below zero the morning he started home and it had been about that low a great deal of the time this winter, many saying that it is the coldest winter that has occurred there for‘many years. While •in the west Mr. Raines’ brother’s wife died and he attended her funeral at Fairfield, lowa.
