John O’Connor to Talk On National Defense at Goodland.

John O’Connor is scheduled to speak on “Our National Defenses” at Goodland Thursday evening at the meeting of the County Farmers’ Institute. He will also speak on the same subject Thursday afternoon to the pupils of the Goodland schools. Since his trip around the world as ar member of Uncle Sam’s navy back in the seventies Mr. O’Connor has been a close student of the needs of nations in the matter of defenses. He knows the weakness of the defenses in the United States and is a strong advocate of adequate preparedness as the only secuirty for our government. It might be an excellent thing if Mr. O’Connor could be induced to give his address in Rensselaer some evening.
