Eben Wolcott Withdraws From Race For State Office.

Eben H. Wolcott, formerly of Wolcott but for some years a member of the board -of state tax commissioners, has withdrawn from the race for the republican, nomination for secretary of state, thus leaving the field clear for Judge Ed Jackson, of Newcastle. Mr. Wolcott also announced that he will soon retire -as-state- -tax-contunis-. sioner. He is to become vice president and director of the State Savings and Trust Co., of Indianapolis. Wolcott’s term on the state tax board would not expire until next December and Governor Ralston said he had not decided on his successor.
