She is now living in one of the ‘finest country homes in Kalamazoo county. The change in the condition of things is due to a long lost brother, who it had been believed was. dead. He has returned from Alabama, where he made money. Vandyke spent days in trying to secure some trace of the family he left here twenty years ago.
