T. ampbell, the unfortunate lady who broke her hip last Friday, was $57.25. The money was given to her yesterday by Walter V. Porter, who with Sheriff McColly and L. A. Hannon had started the plan to raise the money and had circulated the paper. Mrs. Campbell was very grateful for the assistance, which was badly needed, and asked Mr. Porter to have The Republican thank all who had so kindly given the money. Mie. Campbell is past sixty years old and the fracture of a hip is a serious matter. She had kept a boarding house and done her own work largely and now will be wholly incapacitated for some time. Wilson Clark arrived Monday evening from Cedar Point, Kans., to visit his mother, Mrs. Lucy Clark, and family- Mrs. Clark accompanied him as far as Chicago and went from there to Scottsburg, Ind., to visit her old home. Mr. Clark will join her there next week and then both will return here for a longer visit. Wilson's brother, Willie, who has been his mother’s companion for so many years, has been in very bad health lately and it is thought probable that he can not long eurvive. Wilson reports good crops this year in Kansas. There waa an immense crop of wheat but great difficulty in harvesting it. There was also an abundant coin crop and Wilson, who is a farmer, ehared in the prosqperity by having a lot of corn.
