B. & L. ASSOCIATION TO BE STARTED HERE
Plans Under Way For Formation of Perpetual Association —Probably » Limited to 500 Shares. 'Rensselaer seems certain 'now to have a Building & Loan Association and plans are actively on the way to get it started by December Ist. The Republican urged the necessity for an association for a long time and on two previous occasions has fairly under way for getting started, but the need of a leader was felt and no one seemed to have the time. Now, however, Delos Dean after some consideration of the matter and after having read the state 1 law and secured samples of the bylaws of local associations, has decided to make the effort to start an association and has received so much encouragement that it is hoped to get everything ready to form the association before the first of December and to begin the payment of the monthly dues at that time. Building & Loan Associations are under the strict regulations of state laws and the investment is a good one for the investor and affords an opportunity for building or buying a home on the installment plan that will result in the erection of many new homes in this city during the next few years. If it can be started-by December Ist, as is planned, several borrowers could be accommodated by next year. Businessmen, mechanics and all others in the city who are interested in the growth of Rensselaer should welcome the organization of the association and should cheerfully subscribe for stock and as the limit of shares will probably be placed at 500, it is important to all who wish to take stock in it, subscribe at the outset. A meeting will be called as soon as Mr. Dean, who is passing the stock pledges, has enough signers to justify the steps for organization. Of a dozen or more persons to whom the plans of organization were mentioned every one expressed a willingness to take stock and were enthusiastic about the immediate organization.
