HALLOWE’EN PRANKS CAUSE OF TRAGEDY
Stewart Flack Probably Fatally Wounded By Mrs. Clarence Knowlton At Battle Ground. Last Friday night at Battle Ground Hal)low r e’en prankerb piled cabbage and other things on the porch of the home of Clarence Knowlton. The next morning he was angry and threatened to have those who had performed the stunt arrested and said that' if they returned he would shoofthem. Saturday night either the same gang or another returned to Mrs. Knowlton and her husband appeared in the yard and she fired a shot from a revolver directly into the crowd. The bullet struck young Flack in one hip and deflected upward and it is feared that he will die. The Knowltons have been arrested and are in jail in Lafayette.
