NARROW ESCAPE OF AN AVIATOR

While making a reconnoissance flight behind the German lines in Belgium. be was struck by shrapnel and his leg was almost severed. He lest consciousness, but after the machine bad made a wild drop he revived sufficiently to check it, and landed safely.
