Leslie Williaifts, the 7-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Walker, of Barkley township, died Friday and the funeral is being held this afternoon at the Barkley M, E. church. A couple were showered with rice at the depot Friday afternoon a* they took passage on the 1:57 train, but the reporter was not at the depot and no information can be procured today from ministers, justices of the peace or otTTer sources and as no marriage license had been issued in this county the couple must have come here from some other place and been followed by friends. Whoever they are we wish them a long life of happiness. While in Indianapolis this week Dr. Gwin had the opportunity of witnessing two tennis sets by Johnson and McJLoughln, who had been provided as an attraction at the speedway by Carl Fisher. The games were by far the best he had ever seen and he is determined to make tennis games in Rensselaer the center of much attraction next year. With the splendid start made this year we should have a dozen players of unusual ability ! next year. It is a fine game and parents should be glad to provide good ! grounds for the use of their children.
