Dn Paul C. Curnick made a trip to Indianapolis today. Prof. Swindler, principal of the public schools, has secured rooms for light housekeeping in Mrs. Alda Pari kison's house on Forest street. Mrs. Maria Vondersmith is very sick at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. P. Wright, and .it is probable can last but a short time. W. L. Wood will g oto Goodland tomorrow to address the Newton County Sunday School convention His subject is: “The Power of Organization.” D. L. Halstead has purchased a fine new Overland roadster of the local agent, Dr. J. Hansson, who has also sold to H. E. Parkison a new 5-pas-senger Studebaker. S. S. Shedd has purchased of the Main Garage a new Maxwell 5-passenger car, selling his Ford to J. A. Dunlap. Harry Marlin was arrested for intorication Saturday night and on Sunday morning Squire Spitler fined him -1 and costs, amount’ng to $lO, and he was sent to jail. Harry is a good boy and this was his first offense. He says that he wa given cider spiked with alcohol at the residence of Henry Smith. Mrs. Ida Nowels Cochran and two children, of Tacoma, V r ash., are coming this evening to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Nowels. It is their first visit here since they moved to Tacoma five years ago She wll alstf visit relatives in Carroll and Wabash counties.
