John N. Bicknell was arrested today charged with running an automobile without a license. Squire Dean, after hearing the evidence, discharged the prisoner. It seems that Bicknell bought the car in June but did not use it until Sunday. He made application for license on Saturday. The law says that application must he made for a license within ten days after becoming the owner of a car for use on the public highways. The court held that the statute means ten days after the owner begins to use the car, and discharged the prisoner. The case against A. L. Clark for running a car without displaying the license number has been dismissed on motion of the state. This is the case in which the jury failed to agree.
