Monon Tennis Team Played Here Friday.

A two man tennis team composed of Leslie Thomas and Brook Morris, came to Rensselaer Friday and played a team composed of Elvyn Allman and Harry English. Our boys proved too much for the Monon lads. The courts at Monon are not very good and when the tennis enthusiasm only runs to two or three fellows it is not probable that much development can be made. However, the fellows who played here have form and will put up a better game with more practice. Allman and English were both in good form Friday. In the doubles Rensselaer won from Monon 6-3 and 6-2. English beat Morris at singles 6-1 and 6-3, and Allman won from Thomas 6-0 and 6-1. Two sets were played off in the final matches in the city tennis tournament Friday. In the fastest sets that have been seen on the local courts Healey won from Parks 12-10 and 6-4. In two good sets Spitler won from Faye Clarke today in their semi-final match 6-0 and 6-0. The matches that remain to be played are Washburn and English and Babcock and Spitler. The winners of these matches will, with Healey and Dean, compose the Rensselaer tennis team.
