Man Charged With Wife Murder in Jail at Monticello.

Several months ago Mrs. Robert Ward, whose home was at Norway, near Monticello, was burned to death. At first she was believed to have suicided, but later suspicion pointed to murder and an indictment was returned by the grand jury charging Jhim with first degree murder. He had disappeared. The county council was found at Oxford, where he was under an assumed name. He was arrested and taken to Fowler and the White county officers notified. He was taken to Monticello and will be tried at the September term of the circuit court.
